Art lovers should head downtown to the Erie Art Museum, and younger art enthusiasts will enjoy the Children’s Museum, which has a number of interactive and educational exhibits. Military history buffs will enjoy the Erie Maritime Museum and US Brig Niagara, a 19th-century warship.

Downtown Erie is also a great shopping destination and there are lots of restaurants to choose from. Try a Smith’s hot dog, a local favorite, or take advantage of the city’s proximity to the lake and dine on freshly caught perch. Fastbreak Service
Proceed to the Budget counter Fastbreak line/or normal line if no Fastbreak line designation/or follow directions to the Fastbreak Kiosk. Present identification and receive your rental agreement. The counter representative will give the customer the keys & directions to their car. FASTBREAK RETURN: Follow the airport signs for Car Rental return. You do not need to return to the counter to complete your rental. Record your mileage and fuel level on the rental agreement and drop it in the Budget Fastbreak return box. A closed rental agreement will be mailed to you within 48 hours.
General Directions
COUNTER: AIRLINE PASSENGERS: Proceed to the counter that is located in the baggage claim area. WALK-UP RENTERS: FROM I-79: Exit 182B onto 12th Street. Airport is approximately 5 miles on the left. Proceed inside the baggage claim area entrance, to the counter. VEHICLES: Rental cars are parked outside the baggage claim area. RETURNS: Same as pick-up. AFTER-HOURS RETURNS: Available. Park & lock the car. Place the completed contract & the keys in the Drop Box located on the right side of the Rental Counter inside the Terminal. NOTE - TERMINAL IS LOCKED at approx 1030PM every night after the last flight comes in. The Terminal REOPENS approx 4AM daily. RETURNS ARE AVAILABLE during the time of the TERMINAL closure. Park & lock the vehicle. Please follow the DIRECTIONS LOCATED ON THE TERMINAL DOOR and call the AIRPORT POLICE; who will come unlock the Terminal door & escort you while you place keys & completed contract in the Avis Drop box located on the right side of the Rental Counter. Please remember to take your personal belongings with you.
After-hours Returns
Park & lock the car. Place the completed contract & the keys in the Drop Box located in the Returns area. Remember to take your personal belongings with you.
